Prime Minister visited exhibition ‘Forever Free Ukraine!’: this is a way to learn about Ukraine’s European identity and courage of its people
On Wednesday, the exhibition ‘Forever Free Ukraine!’ opened at the Vytautas the Great War Museum under the patronage of Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė. In her welcome speech, the Prime Minister described the exhibition as yet another opportunity to learn more about Ukraine’s European identity and the history of its courageous struggle for independence, which continues today.
‘The exhibition we are opening today is yet another way for Lithuania to support the heroic efforts of Ukraine fighting with determination and perseverance day in, day out. We reiterate our pride and admiration for the courage and perseverance of all the people of Ukraine and its armed forces’, said Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė.
The Prime Minister thanked the team and the Director of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, Yuri Savchuk, the museums of the United States of America, which loaned their exhibits, and the Gubsky Foundation.
‘It is very important that we all have the opportunity to learn more about Ukraine’s European identity and historical roots. This exhibition reveals the lesser-known aspects of Ukraine's struggle for independence. They testify to the strong Ukrainian desire for freedom and to the fact that Ukraine was an integral part of European culture before the tragedy of the Soviet occupation’, said the Prime Minister.
The exhibition ‘Forever Free Ukraine!’ will run until the end of May.
