Prime Minister wishes Moldova a happy Independence Day
Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has extended greetings to Moldova on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence.
‘Our two nations are linked together by the strongest of bonds – the shared ideals of freedom and democracy. Moldovan and Lithuanian people know very well what it takes to gain freedom and to defend it. We remember with deep gratitude that your country’s parliament was the first in the world to recognize Lithuania’s independence in May 1990.
Today, Lithuania stands by Moldova, as your country has embarked on the path of reforms and closer integration with the European Union. We are ready to support and step-up assistance to your country in this challenging yet necessary transformation. Moldova’s success on this path would be our common success,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.
Prime Minister Šimonytė has wished Moldova security and prosperity.
