Prime Minister wishes the Jewish community of Lithuania and Litvaks around the world a happy Passover
Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė wishes the Lithuanian Jewish community and Litvaks around the world a happy Passover:
‘I extend my sincere greetings to the Lithuanian Jewish community and Litvaks around the world on a special festival, Pesach. Its traditions have been cherished for thousands of years, remembering the Exodus from Egypt, and it embodies the fundamental values of the spiritual revival and freedom of the Jewish people.
Sadly, for the second year in a row, the Jewish community in Lithuania and around the world are marking Pesach in challenging times, and not all families are able to get together for the Seder. I sincerely wish that this celebration of liberation, as well as the rebirth brought by the spring, revives confidence to overcome all hardships.
I wish you a happy and healthy Passover! May wisdom and endurance accompany your every step, may your homes and hearts be filled with warmth, peace, and joy! Chag Pesach sameach!’
