Prime Minister’s greetings to Armenia celebrating its Independence Day

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, a message of greetings to Armenia, which is cerebrating its Independence Day on 21 September.
‘Our people have been bound together by the shared history of painful soviet occupation, mutual support to each other’s struggle for independence, and an elated spirit of freedom when achieving it more than three decades ago’, reads Prime Minister’s letter to Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister is wishing the Armenian nation unity and endurance. According to the Prime Minister, it is deeply regretful that on 31st Anniversary of Independence of Armenia, inviolability of your borders is challenged and the peace in the South Caucasus region remains fragile.
‘Lithuania remains committed to further strengthening the bilateral contacts between our countries and our people, as well as Armenia’s ties with the European Union’, reads Prime Minister’s letter.
