Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė has extended greetings, on behalf of the Government, to France celebrating its National Day, coupled with best wishes for prosperity and wellbeing of the people of France.

‘Lithuania sets great store by the strategic partnership with France and thus is ready to do its utmost to strengthen the close cooperation on the issues of the European agenda and security policy. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it clear that there is no alternative for a European Union’s coordinated response in addressing today’s challenges. Only a Union that is built on solidarity and shared values will secure prosperity and wellbeing for all Europeans. France has been a very valuable contributor to the security of NATO’s eastern flank, and we attach great importance to France’s involvement in the European Union’s Eastern Partnership policy. The Lithuanian Government firmly supports the development of all-encompassing bilateral relations with France, including economic cooperation. I hope that in the future, our people will continue coming closer together and thus strengthening the friendship between our nations’, reads Prime Minister’s letter of greetings.
