Prime Minister’s greetings to Kosovo on their Independence Day
On behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has extended sincere greetings to the people of the Republic of Kosovo on the occasion of the Independence Day along with the best wishes for the well-being and prosperity.
‘I avail myself of this opportunity to express my delight in our ever-closer bilateral relationship, which continues to strengthen every year. Let me assure you that Lithuania strongly supports Kosovo’s independence, sovereignty, and European aspirations.
Over the past year, Kosovo made significant progress in many areas, especially in visa free travel to the European Union for passport holders from Kosovo. It is one of the most important benefits for every citizen of Kosovo. We wish for Kosovo to continue down the path of reforms that contribute to building of a secure, prosperous, and democratic state and the well-being of its citizens.
At the same time, in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine, it is evident as never before that strong and peaceful Europe can only be built based on common values and European solidarity. Full Kosovo’s alignment with European Union’s sanctions against Russia and Kosovo’s support for Ukraine shows its determination to European values and principles of democracy,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
