On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has greeted the Republic of Latvia celebrating its Independence Day on 18 November.

‘As a modern, prosperous, and forward-looking country that has achieved a remarkable success over the last 3 decades, Latvia has much to celebrate.

Today Lithuania celebrates with Latvia. Our countries are connected by strong bonds of brotherhood and friendship. Our unity and our success stories set an example for what two free nations can achieve together to nurture and strengthen the values of democracy and freedom. Our solidarity and close cooperation have never been more critical in countering the challenges that democracies face today’, reads Prime Minister’s letter to Latvia’s Prime Minister Evika Siliņa.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Šimonytė has sent her best wishes for prosperity and well-being of Latvia and its people.
