Prime Minister’s greetings to Moldova celebrating its Independence Day

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending a message of greetings, on behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, to Moldova on the Independence Day.

‘This year has marked a significant milestone in Moldova’s European integration, as the EU has opened accession negotiations with Your country. Lithuania, as a staunch supporter of Moldova’s European integration, is expanding its assistance on Moldova’s European path because Moldova’s future is in the EU family, and it’s our shared responsibility to ensure the irreversibility of this process. I am confident that we will continue this cooperation and further strengthen our bilateral relations in various other areas.

In the context of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine and its persistent attempts to destabilize Your country, Lithuania remains firmly committed to continuing its assistance to Moldova, aimed at strengthening Moldova’s statehood and resilience. At the same time, I am very grateful for your country’s consistent support for Ukraine at the bilateral level and in international forums,’ the Head of Government said in her message of greetings.
