Prime Minister’s greetings to new Chancellor of Germany
Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has extended her greetings to new Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, wishing his Government determination, perseverance, and success in achieving their goals.
‘We applaud to your Government for the commitments to further strengthen the European Union and its capacity to act on the world stage. We highly value Germany’s role in strengthening transatlantic ties and our partnership in the Alliance. Germany’s leading role in NATO forward presence in Lithuania makes a significant contribution to overall security in Europe.
We stand ready to work together to meet the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic and climate change, to counter hybrid attacks on the European Union and to continue to support those who are fighting for their democratic rights and sovereign national choices. In the face of the threat posed by Russia to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the security of the whole of Europe, the mobilisation and solidarity of all of us and of Germany is extremely important’, reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
The Head of Government has expressed her conviction that the co-operation between Lithuania and Germany will continue to lead to the values- and solidarity-based future.
