Prime Minister’s greetings to New Zealand’s new Prime Minister

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has greeted Prime Minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon, as he has assumed office, and wished success to the new Government.

‘I express Lithuania’s high appreciation of the friendly relations with New Zealand. I am certain that, as like-minded countries, we will continue working together to strengthen our bilateral ties and rules-based international order. Our solidarity and close cooperation have never been more critical in countering the challenges that democracies face today’, said the Prime Minister in her message of greetings to the country’s new Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.

The Prime Minister has underlined that Lithuania attaches a high priority to the strengthening of the ties with New Zealand and the countries in the Indo-Pacific region and welcomed the growing political and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Šimonytė has also noted the NATO Summit held in Vilnius, which addressed issues of paramount significance to the regional security, including the ways to strengthen cooperation between NATO and Asia-Pacific partners.

The Prime Minister has wished the Prime Minister of New Zealand and the Government he leads every success in their work.
