Prime Minister’s greetings to Norway on its Constitution Day
Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė extends heartfelt greetings to Norway on the occasion of the Constitution Day, conveying her warm wishes for the people of the country.
‘Lithuania's and Norway's friendship is strong, as it is rooted in common values and mutual responsibility to protect freedom, democracy, and peace. Our solidarity and close cooperation have never been more important in tackling the challenges that democracies face today. Lithuania highly values Norway's contribution to the NATO's presence in the Baltic states as very important in strengthening the security of our region and beyond.
I firmly believe that friendly relations between our two countries will be further strengthened by our cooperation aimed at enhancing democratic values and peace around the world.
ln the context of Russia's shocking and brutal invasion of Ukraine, our joint efforts need to continue as our support to Ukraine till its victory and beyond. Leadership in showing solidarity and steadfast support to Ukraine and its people as they fight for their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and for the Europe's freedom is highly valued and appreciated’, reads Prime Minister’s letter.
