Prime Minister’s greetings to Spain celebrating National Day

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has sent a message of greetings to the Kingdom of Spain on its National holiday - the Hispanic Day.

‘I would like to express Lithuania's deep appreciation for the friendly relations with Spain and for our joint work in the European Union, NATO, and other international organizations.

We are especially grateful for Spain's contribution to the Air Policing Mission and to NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic States, and hope for your continuous support in strengthening the security of our region and Europe as a whole.

Our solidarity and close cooperation have never been more critical in countering the challenges that democracies face today in the face of Russia's brutal war.

We are grateful for Spain's support for Ukraine, which is defending not only the freedom of its citizens but also the future of the entire democratic world. I believe that by acting together, we will help preserve the core values of today's world, i.e. the rules-based international order, freedom, and democracy,’ reads the message of greetings by the Head of Government.
