Prime Minister’s greetings to Sweden celebrating its National Day
Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending a message of greetings, on behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, to Sweden on the National Day.
‘I am pleased to take this opportunity to express appreciation of our shared goal of keeping and further strengthening the unity of the EU and NATO, which is much needed facing today’s multiple challenges.
I firmly believe that friendly relations between our two countries will continue to grow through our cooperation aimed at enhancing democratic values and peace around the world.
In the context of Russia’s shocking and brutal invasion of Ukraine, our joint efforts need to continue as our support to Ukraine till its victory and beyond, and your personal leadership in showing solidarity and steadfast support to Ukraine and its people as they fight for their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and for the Europe’s freedom is highly valued and appreciated.
I have no doubts regarding the continued successful cooperation between Lithuania and Sweden and our common efforts to build a strong and secure future of the Nordic-Baltic region. As we focus on security and peace, I also trust that our countries will further expand our bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of business, education, culture, and people-to-people contacts,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
