Prime Minister’s greetings to the Czech Republic on the Independence Day

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has sent a message of greetings to the people of the Czech Republic on the Independence Day.

‘I am pleased to take this opportunity to express appreciation of our close cooperation and our shared goal of keeping and further strengthening the unity of the EU and NATO, which is much needed facing today’s multiple challenges. Lithuania highly values Czech Republic’s contribution to NATO presence in the Baltic states as especially important in enhancing the security of our region and beyond.

Peace and security in Europe can only be achieved through Ukraine’s victory against Russia’s premeditated aggression, which threatens rules-based world order. We are grateful to the Czech Republic for its firm and principled stance in supporting Ukraine, which brings Ukraine closer to victory and just and lasting peace, and only further unites us all.

I am confident that the partnership between our countries - rooted in our shared values, economic, cultural, and people-to-people contacts - will continue to grow, and that our joint efforts will contribute to faster achievement of durable peace on the European continent,’ reads the letter of the Head of the Government.
