Prime Minsiter discussed broader collaboration between "Microsoft" and Lithuania to advance the country’s digital ambitions
Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas met with "Microsoft" Vice President Didier Ongena. Prime Minister presented Lithuania's potential as a reliable and strategically attractive location for IT infrastructure. The global company's plans and priorities related to the development of digital infrastructure in the Lithuanian market, especially in the area of data center development, were also discussed.
"Lithuania is open to the development of artificial intelligence and other innovations, has an efficient energy infrastructure, and can help create sustainable business relations with other European countries. I believe that Lithuania's digital ambitions and "Microsoft's" global experience will encourage the development of innovations in our country, strengthen our national security and resilience through digital modernization and create conditions for new workplaces—a significant added value for our country and its people." said the Prime Minister.
The meeting discussed Lithuania's IT and data transmission infrastructure, the development of a high-speed fiber optic network, the reliability of electricity supply, the ecosystem of renewable energy sources and cybersecurity.
G. Paluckas and D. Ongena talked about the role of the strategic role of the Baltic region in Microsoft’s broader IT and cloud strategy, including opportunities for collaboration to support secure AI innovation and digital resilience.
