Shared Priorities Highlighted in Conversation Between Lithuanian and Latvian Prime Ministers
On Friday, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė held a telephone conversation with Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina.
I. Ruginienė thanked her Latvian colleague for the congratulations extended on the start of her work as Head of Government.
“Having excellent neighbours in our region is not something to be taken for granted, and we are therefore glad that Latvia is a like-minded, close ally and partner. Together we must strengthen the security and defence of the region, support Ukraine until our common victory and a lasting peace are achieved, accelerate regional infrastructure and energy projects, and work together for a resilient, competitive Europe and a strong transatlantic bond,” said the Lithuanian Prime Minister.
The Latvian Prime Minister invited Mrs Ruginienė to visit Riga in the near future to discuss the most pressing issues for both countries. In December, the Heads of Government of all three Baltic States will also meet in Riga in the format of the Baltic Council of Ministers.
