The Acting Prime Minister Congratulates Ukraine on Independence Day
On behalf of the people of Lithuania and the Interim Government, Rimantas Šadžius, Acting Prime Minister, extended congratulations to Ukraine on the occasion of its Independence Day today.
This day is not only a symbol of freedom but also of unbreakable spirit, reads the greeting addressed to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyrydenko.
“Your nation’s courage and determination in defending its land against the aggressor has become an inspiration and an example for the entire democratic world. Every day you prove that the belief in freedom is stronger than any destructive force.
Lithuania stands together with you – not only in words, but also through concrete action. We will continue to provide military, economic, humanitarian and all-round assistance, and, together with our allies, we will go on mobilising support so that Ukraine may take its rightful place in the European Union and NATO family as soon as possible. This is our shared path towards a truly safe, peaceful and united Europe,” wrote Acting Prime Minister R. Šadžius in his letter.
R. Šadžius wished the Government of Ukraine and all Ukrainian people strength, hope and faith in victory, stressing that Lithuania stands with Ukraine – today and always:
“Once again, I kindly ask you to accept my congratulations, heartfelt wishes, and my profound respect and sincere admiration for Ukraine and its indomitable people.
